I figured I would add another post since the first was mostly short, but I didn’t have a lot of time to do it and I just wanted to get something posted.
I have been writing for a long time, actually longer than just the technical writing, because when I did technical illustration before that I was also doing some writing for a couple of years. So the amount of time that I have been technical style writing and editing is actually now approaching 30 or so years.
And when it comes to reading well I have been doing that since I could do it, which is a long time. I am mostly into horror in terms of what I like to read but I have branched out into other things, recently I have read a lot of historical biographies (Stalin & Lenin), and most recently I have been into reading disaster type novels, stuff that is fiction but it is also something that based on past and current events could still actually happen for real.
I am also an artist and have been for my whole life, right now I am doing mostly abstract style art, it is very therapeutic and that helps as I have been in recovery for now almost 17 years. It seems to help. But also when it comes to art I have a keen interest in erotic art and any art that is horror based. These are directions I would like my art to go but I first need to get my drawing skills back as they were lost long ago to doing CAD work for my technical illustration. I am sure once I get time to actually do the practice those skills will come back quickly.
Which brings me to the last bit, I have grand plans that require me to have time to get those things done, time is that one thing I don’t actually have because of what I lose daily to life, you know work, going to the gym, eating and sleeping. After all that I have less than 5 hours for me, so I have to figure out how to use that 5 hours or some days 6 so that I can get these things done. I have a timeline for getting success out of these things, within the next 6 years I want to be earning a significant enough income at a minimum from my writing that I can retire and not worry about things monetarily.
So is it impossible, I don’t think so, but I have my work cut out for me for sure.
